Comic-Con has announced the nominations for the 2024 Eisner Awards, and for the second consecutive year, they include writer Rob Salkowitz, who writes a regular column for ICv2 and also contributes to Forbes and Publishers Weekly, in the category of Best Comics-Related Periodical/Journalism.
Image was the publisher with the most nominations, with 17 (plus 8 shared); DC was second with 13 (plus 8 shared). Fantagraphics had 11 nominations, First Second had 10, IDW had 9, and Marvel had 5.
The following comic industry professionals are eligible to vote: comic book/graphic novel/webcomic creators (writers, artists, cartoonists, pencillers, inkers, letterers, colorists); comic book/graphic novel publishers and editors; comics historians and educators; graphic novel librarians; and owners and managers of comic book specialty retail stores. The deadline for registering to vote is May 30; the deadline for voting is June 6.
The Eisner judges who chose the nominees this year were educator/comics creator Ryan Claytor, author/editor/educator N. C. Christopher Couch, retailer/academic Andréa Gilroy, writer/editor Joseph Illidge, retailer Mathias Lewis, and author/public school librarian Jillian Rudes.
