Modiphius Entertainment announced that they have acquired the tabletop license to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld.
Modiphius has a few different plans for this new license. First and foremost, they intend to produce a new TTRPG that revolves around the city of Ankh-Morpork and the wilder Disc. Steve Jackson Games had previously produced a Discworld RPG for GURPS, putting out the last edition of this game in 2016 for GURPS 4E (see “‘Discworld Roleplaying Game’“).
“I’m sure many of us have Terry’s unique world in our mind’s eye when we’re roleplaying,” said Chris Birch, founder and CCO of Modiphius. “Ankh-Morpork has had such a special place in the community and is full of so much character it was a great place to begin our journeys on the Disc.”
The Kickstarter for the TTRPG will happen in late 2024, and more information about any board game releases for the IP will be forthcoming.
