Not a single Pokémon game was nominated by The Game Awards for 2023, but Nintendo was the most nominated publisher with a whopping 15 nominations. This number was attained largely due to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the recently-released Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more:
The Game Awards has honored Nintendo with multiple awards, including The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom for Best Action/Adventure game, Super Mario Bros.™ Wonder for Best Family game and Pikmin™ 4 for Best SIM/Strategy game. These games, all made for the Nintendo Switch system, represent new installments of some of Nintendo’s best-known franchises.
Attendees and viewers of The Game Awards were treated to a special orchestral performance of select music from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder games. To see the performance and the awards show in its entirety, visit https://www.youtube.com/thegameawards.
