Wizards of the Coast updated their release information for Magic: The Gathering – Murders at Karlov Manor, a new Standard set, which is headed to retail on January 9, 2024.
This first Standard set of 2024 (see “Product Line Deets Revealed“) features a murder mystery flavor to it. Along with the new set, WotC has announced the key dates for retailers to keep in mind regarding events and the release:
- Scheduling Opened: December 5, 2023
- WPN Marketing Portal: New materials became available December 5, 2023
- Promotional Kit Delivery: Starts January 26, 2024
- Prerelease: February 2-8, 2024
- Release: February 9, 2024
- Open House: February 9-11, 2024
- Store Championships: March 2-10, 2024
- Commander Party: February 16-18, 2024
- Standard Showdown: Runs from February 12 to April 4, 2024
- Ravnica: Cluedo Edition Release Date: February 24, 2024
As an additional point of note, Standard Showdown will be returning to retail stores with this set. This part of WotC’s plan to bring Standard back as a popular format for in-store play (see “Tabletop Woes“). Also, this release will introduce another round of 30th anniversary promos.
