Wizards of the Coast Announces New Timeless ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Format

Wizards of the Coast announced the Magic: The Gathering Timeless format, for MTG Arena.

The Timeless format is the culmination of several years of cards added to MTG Arena, such as Wilds of Eldraine Enchanting Tales and Strixhaven Mystical Archive, that seemingly had “no home” on the platform as far as constructed play goes until now.  This online only non-rotating constructed format allows players to use any card in their MTG Arena collection.  It includes the digital-only cards as well as future set releases.  There is a restricted list for the format, which at this moment, includes the following cards:

  • Channel
  • Demonic Tutor
  • Tibalt’s Trickery

The restricted list cards limited to one copy per deck and players will receive wildcards for copies of the card beyond one in their online collection.  Timeless goes live as of December 12, 2023.
