Mark Millar has announced on Twitter that he is moving his Millarworld comics imprint from Image to Dark Horse. The imprint includes 20 comics franchises and 40 graphic novels, as well as omnibuses and the five new series he plans to launch in 2024. Millar said he will release more information about the deal on March 21, 2024.
Image has been publishing Millarworld comics for the past 10 years, with titles that include Jupiter’s Legacy, The Ambassadors, and the mega-crossover Big Game. “A big thank you to all our pals at @ImageComics for a great 10 years as our publisher,” Millar Tweeted. “We had a ball and produced some books we’re all very proud of.” Dark Horse published one of the early Millarworld titles, The Chosen.
Millar sold his creator-owned portfolio to Netflix in 2017 (see “Mark Millar’s ‘Millarworld’ Acquired by Netflix”).
