Jurgens’ Black Label Debut Revisits the Dark Knight’s Early Days

Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Mike Perkins have teamed up for a three-issue miniseries, The Bat-Man: First Knight, to be published under DC’s Black Label imprint in their oversized Prestige Plus format.  Set in 1939, the story is a modern take on an early Dark Knight case, with a series of gruesome murders committed by men who had already been executed in the electric chair.  The first issue is slated for release on March 5, 2024, and will have a main cover by Perkins, a pulp novel variant by Marc Aspinall, a variant cover by Ramón Pérez, and a 1:25 variant by Jacob Phillips.  The 48-page issue has a trim size of 8 1/2” x 10 7/8”, a card stock cover, and an MSRP of $6.99.
