Dark Horse Books is bringing Loud: Stories to Make Your Voice Heard to the English-speaking market. The anthology features works by creators from the Italian artist collective “Moleste:” Anna Cercignano, Elenora Antonioni, Maurizia Rubino, Francesca Torre, La Tram, Lucia Biagi, Vega Guerrieri, Caterina Ferrante, Laure Guglielmo, Davide Costa, Elis A2B, Carmen Guasco, Marta Macolino, Alessia De Sio, and cover art from Grazia La Padula. The translation to English for this new edition is by Anna Burton.
The stories depict gender-based violence, ranging from manipulation to physical abuse, and toxic masculinity. The goal is to empower readers to talk about the topic out loud and prevent situations similar to those depicted from happening again. With this book, the artists aim to support and empower others.
Loud won the Boscarato award for “Best YA Graphic Novel” in 2022. The graphic novel will be available in bookstores on July 2, 2024, and comic shops on July 3, 2024, at a cover price of $24.99.
