Wizards of the Coast unveiled the product line details for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, a new Magic: The Gathering Standard set, for release on November 10, 2023.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan returns to the plane of Ixalan to explore the ruins of ancient civilizations. The new set features an Aztec art motif, more flip cards like the original Ixalan (see “‘Magic: The Gathering – Ixalan’“), and is packed with new treatments for cards, such as the debut of Special Guest treatment cards (Masters release–level reprints with art in the aesthetic of the set). The new release also includes a main set printing of Cavern of Souls, which is bound to shake up multiple formats, and neon ink versions of the much sought-after Mana Crypt card.
The set also contains cards with WotC’s newest Universes Beyond license, Jurassic World. There will be cards and tokens found in Set and Collector Boosters that feature various characters and locations from the Jurassic World movies. There are a total of 26 Jurassic World Collection cards to be found in this set.
The new product line for this set is as follows:
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Collector Booster Packs and Displays. The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Collector Booster Boxes will include 12 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Collector Boosters that come with 15 Magic: The Gathering cards and a traditional foil double-sided token. The cards found in these packs will be a combination of 5 cards of rarity Rare or higher, 4 uncommons, 4 commons, a full-art land card, and the token. Every Collector Pack features a total of 10–13 traditional foil cards and one Traditional Foil Jurassic World card.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Draft Booster Packs and Displays. These booster packs include 15 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan cards and a token/ad card or Helper card that is optimized for the draft format, and come 36 packs to a box. Each pack comes with 1 card of rarity Rare or higher, 3 to 4 uncommons, 9 to 10 commons, and a land card. Traditional foils, of any rarity, replace a common in 33% of these boosters.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Booster Packs and Displays. The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Booster Boxes contain 30 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Boosters. Set Boosters come with 12 Magic: The Gathering cards, an Art Card, and a token/ad card, Helper card, or card from “The List” (found in 25% of packs). Packs include a combination of 1 to 4 card(s) of rarity Rare or higher, as well as 3 to 7 uncommons, 3 to 7 commons, and a Land card. The Land card is replaced by a Traditional Foil in 20% of packs and a Full-Art Land in 30% of packs.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Bundle. The bundle comes with 8 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Boosters, 20 foil basic Lands, 20 non-foil basic Lands, a foil alt-art promo card, a Jurassic World card, a storage box, a Spindown life counter, and 2 reference cards. These bundles will ship in cases of 6.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Bundle: Gift Edition. The Gift Edition comes with 8 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Boosters, a The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Collector Booster, 20 foil basic Lands, 20 non-foil basic Lands, a foil alt-art promo card, a Jurassic World card, a storage box, a Spindown life counter, and 2 reference cards. These bundles will ship in cases of 6.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander Decks. The Commander Decks are 100-card ready-to-play decks that feature 98 additional non-foil Magic: The Gathering cards and 2 traditional foil Legendary cards. The contents of each deck includes a foil-etched Display Commander, 10 specialty cards (not featured in the main set), a two-card Collector Booster Sample Pack, 10 double-sided tokens, a life tracker, a strategy insert, and a deck box. They come in case configurations of 4 decks per carton.
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Prerelease Pack. Prerelease Packs are specifically for use in prerelease events. These packs include 6 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Draft Booster packs, a traditional foil, a year-stamped Rare or Mythic rare card, a code card for Magic: The Gathering Arena (only available in select regions), a deck box, and a Spindown life counter.
