Rebellion will publish a deluxe oversized edition of Pat Mill and Simon Bisley’s Sláine: The Horned God, timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the first appearance of the story in the pages of 2000AD.
The new book, Sláine: The Horned God Anniversary Edition, will have a trim size of 10.5” x 14” (270 x 355mm), close to the size of the original artwork, and the art will be newly scanned from the original film in the 2000AD archive. The book will be released in May 2024 in two formats, a 208-page paperback and a hardcover edition with the three individual volumes contained in an ornate slipcase. The paperback will be available in all stores; the slipcased edition will be exclusive to the 2000AD webstore.
Sláine, a high fantasy tale of an outcast warrior, debuted in 1983 in 2000AD. The Horned God ran in three installments from 1989 to 1990. Last year, Rebellion put out a call for original artwork needed for another Sláine collection featuring artwork by Mick McMahon (see “Rebellion Searching for ‘Missing’ Art by Mick McMahon”).
