Everything you need to know about Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult and Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace in Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX, the strategy and battling Pokémon game for mobile platforms, is now available for download on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). In celebration of the game’s popularity, special in-game events and rewards are offered for a limited time on a regular basis.

Leon and Gloria have new threads and new partner Pokémon during the Galar villain arc.

Part two of the Galar villain arc is under way! Rose’s speech about sync stones and the world’s energy problems creates conflict between his supporters and Lear’s. The situation continues to worsen, but Leon will not stand idle in the face of this threat. Gloria is also up to the challenge of resolving the dispute as one of Galar’s rising stars. What plan will they come up with to deal with Chairman Rose’s ambitions?

Leon dons his Battle Tower garb and partners with one of his signature Pokémon, Dragapult, to form a sync pair that can take on any challenger. This Dragon-type tech sync pair excels at lowering their target’s stats with Unfortunate Strike 9 and their smashing buddy move, B Breaking Swipe. Both increase the strength of their sync move, Rise to the Peak Dragon Impact, which does more damage the more their target’s stats are lowered!

Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult are available to scout until August 18, 2023, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

  • Leon and Sonia are longtime friends who have each other’s back, and it’s no different on Pasio. Sonia & Yamper have the passive skill Defense Crush 9, which lowers the target’s Defense by one stat rank when Sonia & Yamper’s attack move against it is successful. Combined with Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult’s passive skill Unfortunate Strike 9 and move B Breaking Swipe, this team can quickly reduce a target’s Defense stat by six ranks. Sonia & Yamper also offer strong defensive utility by using Ruff Buff to raise Defense, Potion to heal when necessary, and Catalyzing Recovery to keep the move gauge rising. Sonia & Yamper are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and the 5★-Guaranteed Galar Ticket Scout.

  • Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult shine even brighter when working with other sync pairs that lower stats, and Gordie & Coalossal are an excellent choice! Three of their moves lower Speed, which synergizes nicely with their passive skill Hunter’s Instinct, which powers up their moves when their target’s Speed is lowered. Combined with Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult’s B Breaking Swipe, which also lowers Speed, both sync pairs can quickly deal increasing damage. Gordie & Coalossal also offer some type coverage, dealing Rock-type and Fire-type damage in addition to Leon (Alt.) & Dragapult’s Dragon-type attacks. Gordie & Coalossal are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs.

This young hero from the Galar region sports her classic Gym Challenge uniform alongside her first-partner Pokémon, Cinderace. Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace are a Fire-type tech sync pair that aims to deal heavy damage with their signature Pyro Ball and a variety of powerful max moves. They also have the unique capability to inflict different types of Type Rebuff depending on which max move they use. Gloria & Cinderace are exceptionally light on their feet and can pivot with ease—their passive skill Pasio’s Ace grants the pair new passive skills and a new sync move after using Max Airstream or Max Knuckle!

Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace will be available to scout from August 1, 2023, at 11:00 p.m. PDT to August 18, 2023, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

Most moves will not hit the user while it is bouncing. If the user is attacked by a sync move or max move while bouncing, it will stop bouncing.
High Jump Kick (Fighting) 135 When it fails, the user takes damage equal to 50% of its maximum HP.
Kickoff! n/a Raises the user’s Attack by four stat ranks. Raises the user’s evasiveness by one stat rank. Raises the user’s critical-hit rate by three stat ranks.

Soothing ↑2 Raises the following discovery level by 2: Soothing Crystal.
  • Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace is a terrific sync pair partner for Bea & Sirfetch’d. One use of Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace’s max move Max Knuckle both raises Bea & Sirfetch’d’s Attack stat by two stat ranks and lowers the Fighting Type Rebuff of the opposing target. This combination ensures that Bea & Sirfetch’d can strike for even more damage with both Meteor Assault and Worthy Foe Meteor Assault. The two sync pairs also benefit from having the Galar Tech and Galar Strike theme skills, granting them bonus damage on their Fire-type and Fighting-type moves when on the same team. Bea & Sirfetch’d are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and the 5★-Guaranteed Galar Ticket Scout.

  • Gloria’s first sync partner on Pasio was none other than the Legendary Pokémon Zacian, so it’s no surprise that she teams up well with Hop & Zamazenta. Hop & Zamazenta fulfill the key role of being a strong, defensive support sync pair by raising the Attack, Defense, and critical-hit rate of their partners with Hop to It! Gloria (Alt. 2) & Cinderace can’t normally raise their Attack by the full six stat ranks without using Max Knuckle, so this extra boost opens up options in choosing a max move. Hop & Zamazenta also recently received the capability to be raised to 6★ EX, so their sync move can now be used for double the sync buff!

Hop & Zamazenta can be acquired by completing the Howling Shield of Eternity in the Legendary Adventures section of the main story. Champion Spirit used to raise Hop & Zamazenta to 6★ EX can currently be acquired by exchanging Event Voucher Y in the Lamenting a Millennium item exchange.
