People on the Move: Blake Northcott Named Editor-in-Chief of Massive Publishing

Blake Northcott has been named the Editor-in-Chief of Massive Publishing. They are the publisher of the Whatnot Publishing imprint (see “Live Selling Platform Launches Comic Publisher”).

Northcott is a bestselling author, comic book writer, screenwriter, and producer who has worked on DC’s Catwoman, Dynamite’s Vampirella, and was an editorial writer for Millarworld. She also wrote the science fiction superhero comic Arena Mode, which won the BSFA Best Novel award, and Northcott also co-hosts the podcast I’m Not Even Supposed to Podcast Today with Comic Book Men star, Ming Chen. Northcott joins Massive after the company had adapted her The North Valley Grimoire novel into a series of comic books under the Whatnot Publishing imprint in May 2023.

“Blake’s commitment to the craft of storytelling, her passion for comics, and the amazing ability she has to connect with creators, is what made her the obvious choice to help lead the company into its next phase of expansion and innovation,” said Michael Calero, Massive Publishing’s CEO/Co-Publisher.

In her new role, she will work alongside co-founders Michael Calero, Trevor Richardson, and Kevin Roditeli. Massive had also recently unveiled two new imprints and a distribution deal with Sumerian Comics (see “ICv2 Exclusive“).
