In a thrilling nod to nostalgia, The Pokémon Company International has launched the ‘151 to 151’ campaign, inviting Pokémon Trainers to re-explore the original 151 Pokémon from the Kanto region. This initiative will feature social media celebrations of iconic Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Snorlax, Mew, and others. This campaign kicked off with the unveiling of the highly anticipated Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) special expansion, Scarlet & Violet—151, set for a worldwide release on September 22, 2023.
The Scarlet & Violet—151 expansion is the first of its kind in the Pokémon TCG universe. It will feature all original 151 Pokémon from the Kanto region, reimagined in the context of the Scarlet & Violet Series’ Paldea. The set includes a variety of illustration rare and special illustration rare alternate art cards and is organized in Pokédex order, offering Trainers a unique opportunity to revisit some of the brand’s most iconic Pokémon.
The Scarlet & Violet—151 expansion contains several noteworthy cards including 12 Pokémon ex, 16 illustration rare and seven special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards, 16 ultra-rare full-art etched Pokémon and Supporter cards, and three hyper rare gold etched cards.
The cards from this expansion will be available in multiple products, including the Scarlet & Violet—151 Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, Elite Trainer Box, Poster Collection, Binder Collection, Booster Bundle, Ultra-Premium Collection, ex Box—Alakazam ex, ex Box—Zapdos ex, and the Mini Tin Collection.
The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, available for preorder now in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., includes 11 booster packs, two copies of a Snorlax illustration rare-style promo card, and various gameplay accessories.
Ahead of the physical release, Trainers can play with Scarlet & Violet—151 digitally on the Pokémon TCG Live app, available for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices, from September 21, 2023. The expansion will be available in the in-game shop, where players can redeem Crystals earned from completing daily quests for various Scarlet & Violet—151 products.
