Charles Soule to Helm Event that Spans Crossovers, One-Shots, and a Limited Series
The newest Star Wars comics event, announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023, will be Dark Droids, a horror story that will launch with its own limited series and then spin off into crossovers and one-shots.
In Dark Droids, not only droids but cyborgs and other entities are corrupted by something called the Scourge, with widespread and devastating results. The event will begin with a limited series, Dark Droids, by writer Charles Soule and artist Luke Ross, which launches in August 2023. Soule is the architect of the event, which will also encompass one-shots and will cross over into the ongoing series Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. Ajax Sigma, a new character who first appeared in Star Wars: Revelations #1, will have a significant role (see “Preview: ‘Star Wars: Revelations’ #1”).
