Taiwan Night Market, the latest game by TBD Games, has recently launched on Kickstarter. The game offers a unique experience where players can make their fortune by bidding on crucial stall locations to sell delicious street food.
In Taiwan Night Market, players take on the role of ambitious vendors, bidding on the best locations for their stalls and attracting customers with their mouth-watering food. The game is an auction-style game at its core, and players must outwit their competitors to become the king of the night market vendors.
The game includes different locations in the night market, such as food, drinks, dessert, or snacks. Each round, players bid on these locations and choose the type of stalls they want to build. At the end of the game, the player with the most money wins.
The game is played over five rounds in a four-player game (six rounds for three players). Each round has four phases: Preparation, Bidding, Open for Business, and Clean-up. Players must reveal new locations, choose their hidden customer, bid on locations, build their stalls, and attract customers to earn money.
Taiwan Night Market was successfully crowdfunded in Taiwan last November and is now seeking support from international backers to unlock more expansion modules and new game maps. The Kickstarter campaign offers a KS Special version of the game, including wooden cat tokens and a Toilet card. Stretch goals unlocked during the campaign will also be included.
Interested backers can play Taiwan Night Market on Tabletop Simulator and join the TBD Gaming Discord server to provide feedback and playtest the game with the publisher and designers.
