Neil Hollis has won the Golden Demon 2023 Slayer Sword at AdeptiCon in Chicago. The competition attracted hundreds of entries from painters all over the United States, but Neil’s stunning rendition of Master Lazarus of the Dark Angels stood out among the rest.
This is the second time Neil has won a Slayer Sword, having taken the top prize at The Horus Heresy Weekender in 2017 for an iteration of the Iron Warriors Primarch Perturabo. In an interview with Warhammer Community, Neil advised aspiring painters to choose a model they love and to come for the experience, not just the accolades.
The Slayer Sword is awarded to the best-painted miniature of the whole weekend, regardless of category.
All the winners and runners up can be seen on the Warhammer Community Website.
