Roll for Combat has announced the return of the highly-anticipated Tabletop RPG design contest, RPG Superstar, for its 2023 edition. Head judge Mark Seifter revealed the theme for this year’s competition, titled “Elemental Storm,” and opened up submissions for aspiring designers to submit up to three monsters written for Pathfinder 2nd Edition.
The contest will have two rounds of judging, with the community first whittling down the submissions to the best of the best before a group of professional judges with a broad set of skills in the TTRPG industry selects the winners. The top entries will receive prizes ranked from copper to grand, with winners’ monsters being published in the next Battlezoo Bestiary. Those who win platinum or grand prizes will also get to expand their monster into a whole family.
This year’s theme, Elemental Storm, centers around 20 elements, including Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Wood, Ice, Lightning, Force, Life, Death, Light, Darkness, Mind, Spirit, Body, Music, Metal, Time, Space, and Poison. Submissions must be associated with one to three of these elements.
The contest is open to anyone who wishes to participate, but the entries must be submitted in English and comply with the contest’s rules. More information, including the contest’s rules, is available at https://rpgsuperstar.com/.
RPG Superstar is an annual contest for aspiring tabletop RPG designers, originally created by Paizo and licensed by Roll for Combat for the last few contests. With a new theme and an expanded panel of judges, RPG Superstar 2023: Elemental Storm promises to be an exciting and challenging contest for all who participate.
