Marvel Comics revealed Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red, a new comics miniseries, which hits retail shelves on April 26, 2023.
This comic is the latest addition to Marvel’s Black, White, & Blood line of books that features deadly characters like Elektra, Deadpool, and Wolverine (see “Marvel Plans Wolverine Anthology Title”). This time the terrifying tales of the Dark Lord of Sith’s past will be showcased in this color scheme. The miniseries features the work of a star-studded group of creators, including New York Times bestselling writer Jason Aaron, who helped launch the Star Wars series in 2015 (see “3 ‘Star Wars’ Comics“), as well as artist all-star Peach Momoko.
“‘All I am surrounded by is fear. And dead men.’ That moment from Star Wars: Vader Down is still one of my favorite things I’ve written during my time at Marvel,” said Aaron of his previous work on the character. “I loved getting to let Darth Vader cut loose with all his power in such an epic way. And I couldn’t pass up the chance to revel in the dark side again and put Vader in an even more perilous situation, and then see how he carves his way out.”
The first issue of this four-issue miniseries is written by Jason Aaron, Peach Momoko, and Torunn Gronbekk with art rendered by Leonard Kirk, Peach Momoko and more. The main cover will be provided by Alex Maleev.
