It’s four weeks in a row that Avatar: The Way of Water was the top of the box office. The film grossed an estimated $45 million to bring its domestic total to $516.8 million. Internationally, the film added about $234.4 million to cross the billion dollar mark internationally. There it has grossed $1.191 billion. Worldwide, the film has grossed $1.708 billion and it’s almost assured to gross over $2 billion by the time it’s run is over.
M3GAN debuted in second place with $30.2 million domestically. Internationally, the film grossed $14.8 million for a worldwide debut of a little over $45 million.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish slipped to third with an estimated $13.1 million. Domestically, the film has earned $87.7 million. Internationally, the film has grossed about $37 million over the week to bring that to $109.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $197.4 million.
A Man Called Otto expanded its theater count and shot up to fourth place. The film grossed an estimated $4.2 million domestically to bring its total to $4.3 million. Internationally, the film has grossed $8.4 million for a worldwide total of $12.7 million.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rounded out the top five grossed $3.4 million to bring its domestic total to $445.4 million. Internationally, the film added about $1.2 million over the week to bring that to $381.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $827.2 million.
In comic film news…
Black Adam‘s domestic gross ticked up a bit over the week by about $200,000. It now stands at $168.1 million. Over the week the international total also increased a bit, by about $1.4 million, to $224.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $392.9 million.
Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time looks to have ended its run. Domestically, it has grossed $810,744. Internationally, the film has already grossed $92.9 million for a worldwide gross of $93.7 million.
The week’s overall box office success…
Numbers have 25 films earning $104,327,332 from 26,166 theaters. That’s a gain from last weekend’s $103,193,592 from 25,490 theaters and 38 films. The average earning was $3,987.13 this past weekend, close to the previous weekend’s $4,048.40.
