Plaid Hat Previews Player Scaling in Hickory Dickory

January 04, 2023 by Polar_Bear

Hickory Dickory is the upcoming worker placement game from Plaid Hat Games. But it plays differently depending on how many are sitting down at the table. There’s even a version for solo play when nobody else can make it to game night. How does the game change? We get a look at exactly that in this preview.

From the article:

Hello, and welcome back to another Hickory Dickory preview! This week we wanted to take a closer look at how the game scales to different player counts, including a summary of the solo game.

When you setup a game of Hickory Dickory, the first thing you’ll do is put together the clock board. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, the board is also a mechanical marvel with moving parts that resemble a real clock!

Constructing the clock is easy and there’s a handy instruction sheet included as a guide. The clock parts and the board connect together, and along with the two sideboards, form the playing surface. The hour hand on the clock is used to track rounds. You’ll set it at seven o’clock for games with 2-4 players. The minute hand starts at the twelve and is used to carry your mice around the clock face.
