Titan Comics, which is co-publishing Conan the Barbarian comics with property owner Heroic Signatures, will publish its first two Conan omnibi in June 2023. Both hardcover volumes are essentially the same as their Marvel counterparts, with the same page counts and price points, but the first volumes of the Marvel editions appear to be out of print.
Conan the Barbarian: The Original Comics Omnibus, Vol. 1, collects Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith’s original run, with the artwork restored to the best quality possible. The 776-page book collects Conan the Barbarian (1970) #1-26 as well as material from Savage Tales (1971) #1 and #4. Marvel’s original omnibus also included Thomas and Windsor-Smith’s story “The Sword and the Sorcerers,” from Marvel’s Chamber of Darkness #4, which does not appear to be in the Titan book. Titan’s 776-page omnibus will go on sale on June 14, 2023, with an MSRP of $125. Both the regular and the direct market exclusive covers are by Windsor-Smith.
The Savage Sword of Conan: The Original Comics Omnibus, Vol. 1, collects the black-and-white stories by Thomas, Windsor-Smith, and John Buscema that were originally published in magazine format. The 968-page omnibus includes Savage Tales (1971) #1-5 and Savage Sword of Conan (1974) #1-12. Again, one story from the Marvel omnibus is not listed for the Titan book: Savage Sword of Conan Special (1975) #1. The Titan omnibus will have a regular cover by Boris Vallejo and a direct market exclusive cover by John Buscema. It will go on sale on June 28, 2023, with an MSRP of $150.
Titan is co-publishing the Conan properties with IP owner Heroic Signatures and plans to publish both new work and collections of existing comics (see “Titan, Heroic Signatures to Continue Marvel Series, Numbering”).
