Whitney partners with the Season Pokémon Sawsbuck in Pokémon Masters EX.
The holiday season is in full swing on Pasio, and Whitney is here to spread cheer with a festive outfit and her latest partner, Sawsbuck. Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck are a Normal-type tech sync pair with the potential to support a variety of teammates with different types. Fun Times! changes the field’s terrain into either Grassy Terrain, Psychic Terrain, or Electric Terrain based on how many charges of Move Gauge Boost remain when the move is used. Depending on which terrain is set, one of Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck’s passive skills—Team Verdant Defense Drain 9, Team Weird Sp. Def Drain 9, or Team Charged Speed Drain 9—will activate to gift their team an extra boost in battle.
Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck will be available to scout until December 31, 2022, at 9:59 p.m. PST.

Psychic Terrain can be hard to come by in Pokémon Masters EX, making Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck an excellent complement to the most powerful Psychic-type sync pairs on Pasio. Giovanni & Mewtwo’s Confusion, Psychic, and World Domination Psystrike all benefit from Psychic Terrain’s 50 percent damage boost to Psychic-type moves. Additionally, Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck’s passive skill Team Weird Sp. Def Drain 9 lowers the Sp. Def of all opponents by one stage once Psychic Terrain is set by Fun Times!—perfect for pairs that deal special damage like Giovanni & Mewtwo. With Psychic Terrain and Sp. Def reduction, Giovanni & Mewtwo’s power will know almost no bounds. Giovanni & Mewtwo can be acquired after completing Lurking Shadow in the main story’s Legendary Adventures.
Grassy Terrain is even more rare than Psychic Terrain in Pokémon Masters EX, and Mallow & Tsareena stand to benefit from it as one of Pasio’s strongest Grass-type sync pairs. Between Trop Kick, Power Whip, and their overwhelming sync move, Bold-Flavored Bloom Doom, they have plenty of moves that will hit even harder with the help of Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck’s Grassy Terrain. When the holiday pair sets Grassy Terrain, their passive skill Team Verdant Defense Drain activates, lowering the Defense of all opponents by one stage. Mallow & Tsareena’s damage is entirely physical, so that bonus is the cherry on top of the holiday fruit cake for the Alolan duo. Mallow & Tsareena are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Alola Ticket Scout.
