Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Ice-type Pokémon rule and a new Mega Evolved Pokémon debuts in the first part of this two-part event.
The weather outside might be frightful, but there’s snow much fun to be had with Pokémon GO Winter Holiday Part 1! The event runs from December 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to December 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Mega Glalie and Shiny Bergmite make their frosty Pokémon GO debuts as Ice-type Pokémon seize the spotlight. Throughout the event, Trainers can enjoy event bonuses such as an additional 50% XP for winning Raid Battles and the ability to store up to 40 Gifts until the event concludes.
Bundle up in your warmest attire to catch the following Pokémon that will appear more frequently in the wild.
- Pikachu wearing a Winter Carnival outfit
- Swinub
- Delibird
- Snorunt
- Spheal wearing a holiday scarf
- Snover
- Vanillite
- Cubchoo
- Bergmite
Lucky Trainers might also encounter Alolan Vulpix, Stantler wearing a holiday outfit, or Cryogonal.
Raise the brr by participating in event-themed Field Research and Timed Research. Trainers can complete Field Research tasks to earn encounters with the following Pokémon.
- Pikachu wearing a Winter Carnival outfit
- Alolan Vulpix
- Seel
- Shellder
- Jynx
- Sneasel
- Stantler wearing a holiday outfit
- Spheal wearing a holiday scarf
- Glaceon wearing an Undersea Holiday outfit
- Crabrawler
For US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), Trainers can access event-exclusive Timed Research. Completing the tasks will earn rewards that include two Incubators, Incense, Abomasnow Mega Energy, event-themed Pokémon encounters, and an event-themed avatar pose.

Complete the research tasks to earn an event-themed avatar pose!
