The remake of Dead Space has officially gone gold, meaning completion of development to print physical discs. This also signifies the sci-fi horror game should hit its January 27 release date next month.
Developer EA Motive celebrated the milestone on Twitter, saying, “We are whole again!” The remake is an ambitious project. For instance, the studio has promised no loading screens in Dead Space, thanks to being rebuilt in a new engine. There will also be new side quests in this version of the horror game.
The Dead Space remake was originally announced at EA Play 2021. EA Motive previously worked on two games in a galaxy far, far away–Star Wars: Squadrons and the story campaign for Battlefront II. Visceral Games created the survival-horror series starting back in 2008.
Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Dead Space will skip last-gen systems even though there were rumors of a PlayStation 4 version previously. People also may have thought the remake might hit PS4 and Xbox One since so many new games are still shipping on them. But that’s not the case here. GameSpot’s Dead Space preorder guide provides info on where and how to purchase the game.
GameSpot’s Dead Space preview offers an optimistic perspective ahead of the game’s launch, saying, “… Motive Studio has transformed the game’s story and visuals for the better.”
