Comics creators Jim Starlin and Rags Morales are teaming up for a new sci-fi series, Order and Outrage, to be published by Dark Horse Comics next year. The four-issue miniseries is set in a totalitarian world where genetic manipulation is the key to survival, and children whose parents couldn’t afford to optimize their genes before birth are deemed non-essential by the ruling Order. This inequality leads to outrage and rebellion against the Order. The creative team also includes colorist Hailey Brown and letterer Michael Heisler. The first issue will be released on March 23, 2023 and will feature a main cover by Morales and a variant by Starlin.
Starlin is a veteran creator who did significant work for both Marvel and DC and created the character of Thanos, among others; in a statement accompanying the announcement, Morales described him as “the man who taught me how to draw space gauntlets, while perusing my copies of Captain Marvel back in the 1970’s.” More recently, Starlin has been working with independent publishers that allow him more creative freedom (see “Aftershock to Publish Jim Starlin’s ‘Midnight Rose’”).
