If you’re looking to inject some holiday spirit into your D&D games, you’ll want to check out the Holiday Subclasses RPG supplement Kickstarter campaign. The Oath of the North Pole, Gingerbread Witch, Krampus Warlock, and more all in one place.
From the campaign:
The Oath of the North Pole and other holiday sub-classes is a collection of five sub-classes with Christmas spirit. Play as the Toysmith to create armies of tiny-size soldiers, wizards, and dragons to bedevil your enemy with their toy cannons and rifles and lightning bolts. Or play a Bard of the College of Carols, allowing you to fill your allies with the indomitability of Christmas spirit and compel other creatures to sing along. Everyone knows the words to We Wish You A Merry Christmas and if enough other people are singing it, the peer pressure to join in can be insurmountable even if you are, for example, being hacked to pieces by the caroler’s heavily armed friends.
Bake delightful treats for your allies as a Gingerbread Witch, expending spell slots when you take a long rest to create magical treats like gumdrops, gingerbread men, hot chocolate, and candy canes. You or your allies can consume one of these treats to gain their beneficial effects at any time – like a spell you can bake into a cookie so that your allies can spend their own actions to receive them, with the tradeoff that you have to pick what to bake in advance. Making your gingerbread out of the bones of orphans is optional.
Speaking of harm to children, the Warlock’s Pact of the Krampus has a large sack which they can shove creatures of tiny or small size into, immediately removing them as effective combatants, as well as a bevy of frost powers allowing them to bring the bitterest of winter chills to the battlefield.
Or stand with Santa Clause and defend the true spirit of Christmas with the titular Oath of the North Pole, who uses the power of generosity and kindness to bring peace to Earth and goodwill towards men. Use your magical presents to inspire joy in even the most cold-hearted of foes, causing them to wander off the battlefield to be with their families, gaining at the highest levels the power to become the avatar of Santa Clause, neutralizing enemies by handing out gifts from your sack and radiating an aura of such jolly warmth that creatures within it are immune to cold or psychic damage.
Turn your Christmas one-shot into a proper Christmas movie, whether an edgy subversion or a standard wholesome tale of good cheer, with the Oath of the North Pole and Other Holiday Sub-Classes!
The campaign’s over 2x funded (being fair, they weren’t asking for a lot) with 15 days left to go.
