“Explore the Store” is ICv2’s feature series of articles that showcase the layout, inventory, and decor of local gaming and comic book stores across the United States. For this article, ICv2 visited The Labyrinth Games at 123 3rd Ave. in Baraboo, WI on October 22, 2022.
This store is a located about 13 miles down County Road A from the hustle and bustle of the Wisconsin Dells, in the downtown area of Baraboo. The small town of Baraboo is fairly unique, as it was once the headquarters and winter home of the Ringling Brothers circus. There are several reminders of the town’s circus history as one travels through its streets, including the Circus World Museum and the Al Ringling Theatre in the town square. The town has seen somewhat of a revival as an artisan community and tourist stop in recent years, after the Old Baraboo Inn had been featured on ghost-hunting shows.
The Labyrinth Games specializes in trading cards games, board games, and miniatures games. They also claim to have one of the largest selections of Funko Pop! figures in the state of Wisconsin. The back half of the store has a gaming area that can be used anytime the store is open, and they run a multitude of organized play events there. When ICv2 visited the store, they were running TCG tournaments and some players were engaged in miniatures battles.
