Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Pokémon GO flames to please with a featured Ghost-type Charged Attack, event bonuses, a Special Research story, and more.
None of the Pokémon previously featured on Pokémon GO’s Community Days can hold a candle to October’s featured Pokémon. On October 15, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, the Ghost- and Fire-type Litwick will appear more frequently in the wild. Lucky Trainers may even encounter a Shiny one! Evolve Lampent, Litwick’s Evolution, into Chandelure during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Chandelure that knows the Charged Attack Poltergeist. This delightfully spooky Ghost-type attack is making its Pokémon GO debut, so don’t let this opportunity burn out.
This Community Day is gonna be lit—the following bonuses will be in effect during the event.
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon
- 2× chance for Trainers Level 31+ to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- Lure Modules activated during the event last for three hours
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
- Trades require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Community Day)
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Community Day)
You can light up your Community Day with the Special Research story titled “Field Notes: Trick of the Light.” Trainers can purchase tickets in the in-game shop for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Additionally, Trainers can purchase tickets for friends that they’ve reached a friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. To give the gift of luminescent research, simply tap the Gift button when purchasing a ticket. Certain restrictions apply.
You can extend the Community Day fun by challenging Lampent in four-star Raid Battles from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. After successfully defeating Lampent in a Raid Battle, Litwick will appear in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. Lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny one! These four-star raids can only be accessed via Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes—they cannot be joined via a Remote Raid Pass.
Get fired up for Pokémon GO Community Day, Trainers!

Event bonuses
Bonus Raid Battles after Community Day
Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time
After the three-hour Community Day event ends, Trainers will be able to take on four-star Raid Battles. Claiming victory in one of these raids will cause more Litwick to appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes!
Four-star Raid Battles
Lampent will appear in four-star raids!
You can only join these raids using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these raids.
Bonus for completing four-star Raid Battles
Once you successfully complete a four-star Raid Battle against Lampent, Litwick will begin to appear in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!*
*Litwick that appear under these circumstances will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appear during October’ Community Day’s three-hour event period.
