Everything you need to know about Ash & Pikachu in Pokémon Masters EX including their Best Buds 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt sync move, passive skills and theme skills

DeNA is continuing to add more events and new features to Pokémon Masters EX on a regular basis. Read on below to learn more:

The famous duo show off the power of friendship with their Buddy Move, B Thunderbolt!

It’s the three-year anniversary of Pokémon Masters EX, and all Trainers are invited to join in on the fun—it’s never too late to enjoy everything Pasio has to offer! In celebration of the occasion, Trainers will have the opportunity to receive over 10,000 gems. This total includes gems received from multiple rallies’ rewards, including the completion rewards for the Masters Together Rally and the Three-Year Anniversary Social Rally, the Three-Year Anniversary gem present, and the Three-Year Anniversary Log-In Bonus.

Apart from gems, Trainers can claim 10-Pair Scout Tickets from the daily log-in bonus, up to a total of 10 tickets, until September 14, 2022, at 10:59 p.m. PDT. These tickets can be used in the 10-Pair Scout to scout up to 100 sync pairs!

Alongside the fanfare of Pokémon Masters EX’s three-year anniversary, Ash & Pikachu from Pallet Town are set to make their debut on Pasio. This Electric-type strike sync pair may be new to the island, but Ash & Pikachu are ready to prove that they are always in sync with their powerful Buddy move, B Thunderbolt—the first of its kind in Pokémon Masters EX. Buddy moves activate after meeting special conditions and have powerful effects that showcase their users’ unshakable bonds of friendship. After Ash & Pikachu use any move three times, they can begin to shock their opponents with B Thunderbolt, a move that never misses and does damage based on how many gauges are used, up to a maximum of six.

Ash & Pikachu will be available to scout in Pokémon Masters EX until October 16, 2022, at 10:59 p.m. PDT. See below for details, as well as recommended sync pairs to partner with this electrifying duo!

Name (Type) Power Description
Thunder (Electric) 161 Never misses when the weather is rainy. Has a chance (30%) of leaving the target paralyzed.
B Thunderbolt (Electric) 400 Activation Condition: When the user uses any move three times.

Deactivation Condition: Cannot be deactivated.

Never misses. Uses a maximum of six slots of the user’s move gauge. The more gauges used, the greater the power of this attack.

Not Gonna Lose! n/a Restores the user’s HP by approximately 20% of its maximum HP. Charges the user’s move gauge by six. Applies the Gradual Healing effect to the user. Applies the Supereffective ↑ Next effect to the user. Applies the Damage Guard Next effect to the user.
Going All Out! n/a Raises the user’s Sp. Atk by four stat ranks. Raises the user’s critical-hit rate by three stat ranks. In addition, raises the user’s Sp. Atk and Speed by two stat ranks when the user’s remaining HP is at half or more.
Name (Type) Power Description
Best Buds 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt (Electric) 250 Except in certain circumstances, successful hits with this attack become critical hits.
Name Description
Kanto Spirit Powers up the special attack moves of all allied sync pairs by 20%. Reduces special attack move damage taken by all allied sync pairs by 25%. The more allied sync pairs with the Kanto theme you have on your team, the higher these percentages are. Each additional sync pair powers up moves by 15% and reduces damage by 3%. The maximum power-up is 50%, and the maximum damage reduction is 31%.
Ash’s Passion Powers up the user’s Thunder. Decreases the amount of move gauge slots the user needs to use Thunder by one. The user’s Thunder never misses.
Ash’s Tenacity When the user enters battle with full HP, applies the Enduring effect to the user. When the user’s Enduring effect activates for the first time and the user has 1 HP remaining, applies the Enduring effect to the user again.
Initial Pinch Special Boost 2 Increases the user’s Special Moves ↑ Next effect by two ranks the first time it is in a pinch each battle.
Name Conditions Effects
Electric Strike Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same type. Raises allies’ Attack and Sp. Atk by 15 when using Electric-type attacks.
Kanto Strike Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same theme. Raises the Attack and Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by 2.
Main Character Strike Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same theme. Raises the Attack and Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by 2.
Pallet Town Strike Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same theme. Raises the Attack and Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by 3.
Passionate Spirit Strike Form a team with two or more sync pairs that share the same theme. Raises the Attack and Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by 3.

Ash & Pikachu have no problem raising their own Sp. Atk stat and critical-hit rate with the move Going All Out!, but there’s more than one way to boost a sync pair’s damage. Volkner & Luxray may not raise the stats of their allied sync pairs, but their move Electric Terrain increases damage done by all Electric-type moves. With Electric Terrain in play, Ash & Pikachu’s ThunderB Thunderbolt, and Best Buds 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt all receive a significant power-up, making the pair even more electrifying. Volkner & Luxray are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Sinnoh Ticket Scout.

Ash & Pikachu’s B Thunderbolt is a powerful move, but it also requires a significant amount of move gauge slots, making Speed important for the pair from Pallet Town. While they may be unable to raise their own Speed by more than two ranks, Skyla & Swanna’s Take Flight can easily raise Ash & Pikachu’s Speed up to six ranks total while also raising their Defense by four ranks. Skyla & Swanna also have Potion, which can be used twice and heals 40% of an allied sync pair’s total HP. Skyla & Swanna can be acquired after completing Chapter 5 of the PML arc of the main story.
