DC will collect the entire Dark Nights: Metal saga into a single 760-page hardcover omnibus that will be available with two covers, one exclusive to the direct market.
Dark Nights: Metal was a limited series that ran in 2017-2018 and brought writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo back together again for the first time since their run on the New 52 Batman (see “‘Dark Nights’ for Batman”). In addition, DC published eight one-shot comics that tied in to the series, as did several issues of ongoing series. The omnibus will include all the tie-ins, collecting Dark Nights: Metal #1-6, Dark Days: The Forge #1, Dark Days: The Casting #1, Batman: The Red Death #1, Batman: The Devastator #1, Batman: The Merciless #1, Batman: The Murder Machine #1, Batman: The Drowned #1, Batman: The Dawnbreaker #1, Dark Nights: The Batman Who Laughs #1, Batman: Lost #1, Hawkman: Found #1, Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt #1, Nightwing #29, The Flash #33, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #32, Green Arrow #32, Suicide Squad #26, Teen Titans #12, and Justice League #32-33.
In addition to Snyder, James Tynion IV and other writers contributed to the project, and the artists include Capullo, Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, and John Romita, Jr. The cover is by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion, and there will be a direct market-exclusive variant as well. Dark Nights: Metal Omnibus will go on sale on January 10, 2023, with an MSRP of $125.
DC will publish Absolute Dark Nights: Metal, a 400-page omnibus that collects Dark Nights: Metal #1-6, Batman: Lost #1, and Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt #1, but not the other tie-ins, in November 2022 (see “‘Doomsday Clock,’ ‘Dark Nights: Metal’ Get the Absolute Treatment”).
