My Little Ponies to Adapt Classic Tales, Starting with ‘Little Women’

IDW Publishing is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic comics with a new MLP series and a special commemorative issue.

My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies is a four-issue miniseries that will be the first of the adaptations. Written by Megan Brown, with art by Jenna Ayoub and coloring by Heather Breckel, the takeoff on Little Women is set in Broncord, Massahoofetts and stars Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rarity as the March sisters and Applejack as their neighbor. Rainbow Dash is the lead character, a writer who is always looking for excitement, and in this series, she finds it. The first issue will be released in October with cover A by Ayoub, cover B by Agnes Garbowska, and a retailer incentive cover by Rose Bousamra.

In November, IDW will release My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic—10th Anniversary Edition, which reprints the original first issue of the series, by writer Katie Cook, artist Andy Price, and colorist Heather Breckel, and also includes bonus material, including a cover gallery, an interview with artist and writer Tony Fleecs, and a new short story by Jeremy Whitley. The special issue will have cover A by Amy Mebberson, cover B by Price, cover C by Garbowska, and retailer incentive variants by Mebberson and Price.
