SDCC 2022: Hasbro Marvel Legends

Hasbro waited until the biggest show of the year to finally reveal one of the most anticipated Marvel figures that all fans are sure to need in their collections, Razorback! There was some other stuff too, but who cares about that when you have Razorback! There was also a Sunday reveal that I totally missed because my lazy butt stayed home today.

One thing I kept revisiting over the week is the display with Galactus and his Heralds. It was cool to see up close how the stands will work for Surfer and Binary and that awesome metallic purple finish on Galactus himself.

On their Friday panel, Hasbro revealed some new figures from Loki, including Classic Costume Loki, He Who Remains, and TVA Loki without his jacket. My favorite is Classic Costume Loki. He comes with two heads and I think the scowling look is probably my favorite but was not in the booth. The Howard the Duck from What If… looks fanstastic, but man do I wish he had leg articulation. I need that Kang and Casual Friday Loki, but I don’t love that I have to buy a roleplay toy to get Loki. Maybe somebody just wants the cube can split with me?

I’m not really a symbiot guy, but I do like the variety in this group of colors and sizes and I do agree with Dwight that they are going to look cool as a set.

Retro Beast has a perfect portrait and the Lab Coat completes the look. I’m a little surprised that he wasn’t in the VHS series, but glad since I’m not really collecting those.

There were also a couple of cartoon re-colors announced with the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends set and the Cartoon re-color of Scorpion. I really want to like the Spider-Man set, and like the Spider-Man head, but Iceman isn’t quite cutting it for me. One of these days I want an Iceman with a whole new icey and blocky body.

I missed the MCU figures at the show because I didn’t go on Sunday, but I’m sure Dan Yun won’t mind if I use his con photo. The Wakanda forever trailer blew me away, so I’m happy to buy the MCU Namor and Nakia in that cool helmet. I’m less excited to re-buy Martin Freeman and Okoye again. These will be up for pre-order tomorrow at 1PM ET.

The She-Hulk portrait is almost eerily good. I also like the body in this figure a little more than what I’ve seen in the trailers because she looks buffer!

Sentry is kind of cool to me and I especially like how they are doing the overlay for his costume collar. I’d love to see more of this sort of thing. The comic figures are my favorite, especially the D-listers like Razorback and The Human Fly. Those are major checks on my want list of minor villains and have me jonesing for guys like Swarm, a full robotic Silvermane, Slyde, and Rocket Racer
