Therian Forme Landorus Pokémon GO Raid Battle Strategy

Therian Forme Landorus Appearing in Raids: April 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to May 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time

Therian Forme Landorus Last Appeared in Raids: July 18, 2021

Landorus is a Ground- and Flying-type
Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region. From the
forces of lightning and wind, Landorus creates energy to give nutrients to the
soil and make the land abundant. Landorus has two different formes: Incarnate
Forme and Therian Forme. Learn which Pokémon will be most effective in Raid
Battles against Landorus, how to catch Landorus after winning a Raid Battle,
and how best to use the Abundance Pokémon after you’ve caught it.

As a Ground- and Flying-type Pokémon, Landorus is vulnerable
to Water- and Ice-type attacks. When selecting Pokémon for your Raid Battle
lineup, it helps to choose Pokémon that have a Fast Attack and Charged Attack
of one of these types if you want to deal as much damage as possible. It’s not
necessary to choose only Water- or Ice-type Pokémon, but a Pokémon that shares
a type with these attacks will benefit from a same-type attack bonus, which
will allow these attacks to deal an additional 20% damage. Landorus is particularly
vulnerable to Ice-type attacks, so facing it with a team comprised entirely of
Ice-type Pokémon is an excellent choice.

If you have multiple Pokémon that know Water- and Ice-type
attacks, choose the Pokémon with the highest CP and best overall stats.
Remember that speed of victory affects how many Premier Balls you will receive
at the conclusion of a successful Raid Battle, so bring your strongest Pokémon
and defeat Landorus as quickly as you can.

After a successful Landorus raid, you’ll have a limited
number of Premier Balls you can use to catch Landorus, so make each one count.
You can earn extra Premier Balls by battling with friends and defeating Landorus
more quickly.

In an encounter with Landorus, your chance of catching it is
greatest when the target ring is small enough for you to score Excellent
Throws. Throwing Curveballs
can improve your chances even more. But work within your abilities—if you don’t
think you can reliably make Excellent Curveball Throws, aim for Nice Throws or
Great Throws rather than risk missing the target ring completely.

Landorus isn’t going to make it easy on
you by sitting still while you’re trying to catch it. Don’t waste your
Premier Balls by throwing while it’s moving around. Watch the Pokémon
to get a feel for its cycle of movement and the pauses in between the cycles.
During one of these pauses, wait for the target ring to reappear, and then
throw as it starts to grow smaller to increase your odds of making a Great
Throw or an Excellent Throw.

Berries can help you catch Landorus. A
Razz Berry will make Landorus easier to catch, and a Golden Razz Berry will
make it much easier to catch. If you find yourself failing to land any throws,
a Nanab Berry will calm Landorus, making its movements less erratic and
allowing you to make precise throws more easily. If you need extra Landorus
Candy, using a Silver Pinap Berry will make Landorus easier to catch and grant
you extra Candy when you catch it.

Buddy Pokémon with a
Buddy Level of Great Buddy or higher have the Catch Assist Perk. If a
Pokémon—even a Legendary Pokémon—deflects a Poké Ball, your buddy might bounce
it back for a second catch opportunity!

Like all Legendary Pokémon, Landorus is
tricky to catch, so don’t be discouraged if it escapes. Get a second wind by
stocking up on useful items—like Max Potions, Max Revives, and Golden Razz
Berries—and try again.

Therian Forme Landorus’s Initial CP Range: 2,151–2,241

Therian Forme Landorus’s Initial CP Range with Weather Boost: 2,688–2,801

Available Fast Attacks: Extrasensory (Psychic), Mud Shot (Ground)

Available Charged Attacks: Bulldoze (Ground), Earthquake (Ground), Stone Edge (Rock), Superpower (Fighting)

As a Ground- and Flying-type Pokémon, Landorus is resistant to
Electric-, Fighting-, Poison-, Ground-, and Bug-type attacks. Therian Forme
Landorus is an excellent counter to the many prominent Steel-type Pokémon in the
Master League. It boasts an impressively high maximum CP and can learn the Fast
Attack Mud Shot, which benefits from a same-type attack bonus and generates an
extreme amount of energy per second. All of these factors make Landorus a GO
Battle League asset.

In addition to being highly effective in the GO Battle
League, Landorus is an excellent choice against Steel-type Raid Bosses such as Mega
Steelix, Metagross, Dialga, and Heatran, all of which are vulnerable to
Landorus’s Ground-type attacks.

To make the most of Landorus’s potential, you’ll want to
teach it a second Charged Attack. A Ground-type Charged Attack is highly
recommended—Earthquake is an almost guaranteed knockout against a Pokémon
without any Protect Shields. A second Charged Attack with a different type can increase
Landorus’s effectiveness against an even broader range of opponents. Teaching
Landorus a second Charged Attack and raising its CP to its maximum requires a
lot of Landorus Candy and Stardust, so try to catch as many Landorus as you can.
If you use a Star Piece, you will receive extra Stardust after you catch a Pokémon—so
try using one before a raid!

Good luck with your next Raid Battle, and remember to check Pokemon.com/Strategy for more Pokémon GO, video game, and Pokémon TCG tips.
