Arcane Wonders will be releasing Mortum: Medieval Detective, a cooperative supernatural mystery game set in the middle-ages, into the trade. The game had a limited release at last year’s Spiel fair in Essen, Germany, with a launch into the wider hobby market planned for late-May.
Mortum: Medieval Detective is a narrative-based game that puts the players in control of a secret society in Europe’s middle-ages tasked with investigating a series of mysterious occurrences that have a supernatural twist. The decisions of the players in the game will determine which characters, events, and clues are revealed as they explore and build an open world.
The game is designed to teach players how to play as they pursue the first case, with no rulebook. Players simply follow the instructions on the deck of cards representing the first in the series of three mysteries. The three cases included take two to three hours each to complete.
Mortum: Medieval Detective was created by Sergey Minevich. It is intended for 1 to 6 players, ages 14 and up, with each mystery taking 120-180 minutes to resolve. MSRP is $49.99.
Arcane Wonders also announced a stand-alone game based on Smartphone Inc. (see “Arcane Wonders Will Release ‘Mobile Markets: A Smartphone Inc. Game’”).
