Artist Jae Lee, best known for his superhero work, will launch a new seven-issue limited series, Seven Sons,at Image. Lee is working with co-writers Robert Windom (Stars Fell on Alabama) and Kelvin Mao (10 Minutes Gone) on the series, a high-stakes thriller about a man who may or may not be the second coming of Christ, but who is definitely running for his life. The limited series will launch on June 15 and will have three covers, all by Lee: The main cover, a 1:25 incentive, and a 1:50 incentive.
“Kelvin and I were interested in exploring the impact of religion in society—but with murder, mystery, romance, and even a missile attack or two—and Jae Lee is the perfect artist to realize our vision of this alternative history,” said Windom.
Lee shared an Eisner Award with Paul Jenkins for Inhumans, Vol. 2. He has done cover work and interiors for numerous Marvel and DC titles as well as Dynamite’s Sacred Six (see “Christopher Priest ‘Vampirella’ Expands with ‘Sacred Six’”).
