A new four-issue Ant-Man miniseries will delve into the past of Ant-Man and introduce a new version of the character. Each issue will focus on a different Ant-Man, as the newest one visits Hank Pym, Eric O’Grady, and Scott Lang looking for a way to connect them all in order to combat a new threat. The creative team for the miniseries is writer Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk) and artist Tom Reilly (The Thing), and Reilly will also do the cover for each issue.
“For Ant-Man’s ant-iversary, we wanted to go BIG with the world’s smallest hero – burrowing an ant tunnel right through his sixty-year history and far beyond, from the wild and wooly 1960s all the way to a future you’ll have to see to believe!” Ewing said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “You’ll find out how Henry Pym, Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady impacted each other’s lives in ways they never knew themselves – but who’s the mysterious final member of this Ant-tastic Four? Tremble with ant-icipation, true believer – the answers are coming soon to a hill near you!”
The miniseries coincides with the 60th anniversary of the character and ahead of a new Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is now scheduled to premiere in July 2023 (see “Five Marvel Films Pushed Back”).
