CATAN Studio announced the locations of their CATAN U.S. National and World Championships for 2022.
The 2022 U.S. National Championship is scheduled to return to its normal location in Columbus, OH at Origins Game Fair on June 8-12, 2022. However, they have not confirmed the schedule of events as of this time. Qualifiers for the U.S. Championship will occur in throughout the U.S. prior, and CATAN Studio is currently accepting applications to run these events through May 1, 2022.
The World Championship will occur in November 2022 in Valleta, Malta at the Grand Hotel Excelsior. This event is expected to have more than 60 participants from 40 countries to crown the next CATAN World Champion. Also, the current World Champion Quetzal Hernandez will be in attendance to defend his title.
Catan Studio and Asmodee released Catan 3D Edition, a new premium version of Catan, in 2021 (see “‘Catan 3D Edition’“).
