Marvel will bring back its Women of Marvel brand with Women of Marvel #1, slated for release on March 9, 2022.
The collection of stories by female creators, and women of the Marvel universe, will include:
- Squirrel Girl and Black Widow teaming up to fight a common enemy in a story by Hugo Award winning writer Charlie Jane Andersthat also looks at the complications of being a superhero;
- She-Devil and Silver Sable joining forces to defeat poachers in a short by video game writer Rhianna Pratchett;
- Jessica Jones facing up to some of the darker forces of human nature in a story by writer Jordie Bellaire and artist Zoe Thorogood;
- Black Cat revisiting some highlights and lowlights of her career in a lighthearted tale by novelist PreetiChibber and several different artists, including Jen Bartel and Marguerite Sauvage;
- Artist Mirka Andolfo’s first Marvel writing credit.
Andolfo is also the cover artist for the issue.
In February, Marvel will release a Women of Marvel trade that collects the three issues of its 2010 Girl Comics as well as material from an earlier Women of Marvel #1 (see “‘Women of Marvel TPB’ to Collect ‘Girl Comics’ and More”).
