Postcards, Costumed Pokémon, and More During the Pokémon GO Holidays Event

The holiday season is here, and there’s lots to do in Pokémon GO. A new
feature, plenty of Pokémon (including some in festive attire), battles, and
bonuses will keep you entertained throughout this most wonderful time of the
year. The first part of the 2021 holiday celebration runs from Thursday,
December 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
local time
, so don’t miss a minute of the fun! Here’s what you can look
forward to.

One exciting development during this event is the launch of
the new Postcard Book feature. You can now feel even closer to your fellow Trainers
when you save memories from locations that you or your friends visited by
pinning Postcards to your Postcard Book.

Nothing marks an important occasion in Pokémon GO quite like
Pokémon decked out in costumes! During this event, you find plenty of
fashionable Pokémon as you explore. Check out the breakdown below to see which Pokémon
will be appearing where. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny Pokémon!

You won’t just come across costumed Pokémon during this
event, though—there are lots of other Pokémon out there to discover! Here are
some you might find—and yes, you might find Shiny ones if you’re lucky!

If the holidays bring out your competitive side, you’re in
luck. When the Pokémon GO Holidays event begins, the Holiday Cup will also be
available in the GO Battle League. Take on your fellow Trainers to prove your
skills, and earn rewards and Pokémon encounters as you do. Check out the GO Battle League
Season 10 blog
for more details about the cup’s rules.

There will be a few extra bonuses during the event as well.
Share in the spirit of Gift giving with the ability to hold up to 40 Gifts in
your Item Bag and to open 45 Gifts per day. When it’s time to battle, you’ll
find that Mega Abomasnow receives a CP boost, but watch out for Team GO
Rocket—their Grunts will have more Water- and Ice-type Pokémon when you confront
them.

The in-game shop will have new festive avatar items for
purchase including a hat, jacket, and shorts that will continue to be available
after the event ends. Be on the lookout for holiday-themed stickers, too, which
you can collect by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or purchasing them from
the shop.

Also, remember that December’s
Community Day weekend
occurs during this holiday event, so don’t miss
the opportunity to catch more Pokémon that were featured in Community Day events
throughout 2020 and 2021.

With so much to do during the Pokémon GO Holidays event, you’re
bound to have a very merry time this season. There’s even more fun to come as
we approach the end of the year, so check back soon to see what else is in
store!
