Candyman takes the Weekend Box Office

Candyman was the top film for the weekend. The film debuted with an estimated $22.4 million. Internationally, the film also earned a little over $5.2 million. Worldwide, the film earned around $27.6 million.

In second place was the previous champ of the past two weekends, Free Guy. The film dipped just 26.7% in its third weekend and earned an estimated $13.6 million. Its domestic total now stands at $79.3 million. Internationally, the film added about $47.2 million over the week to bring that total to $100.3 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $179.6 million, an absolute success for these times.

PAW Patrol: The Movie slipped one spot to come in third place. The film added $6.6 million to its domestic total to bring that to $24.1 million. Over the week, the film earned about $16.3 million to bring that to $37.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $61.9 million.

Jungle Cruise slip to fourth place, down one spot from the previous weekend. The film added a little over $5 million to its domestic total which now stands at $100.1 million. Internationally, the film added about $5.7 million over the week to bring that to $86.9 million. Worldwide, the film has earned a little over $187 million at the box office.

Rounding out the top five was Don’t Breathe 2 which earned an estimated $2.8 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $24.6 million. $3.2 million was added its international earnings over the week which now stands at $10.7 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $35.3 million.

In comic film news…

The Suicide Squad came in at #7 adding a little over $2 million to its domestic total. That now stands at $52.8 million. Internationally, the film added about $600,000 to its total which now stands at $92.1 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $144.9 million.

Black Widow came in at #10 with an estimated $855,000. Domestically, the film has earned $181.5 million. The international total has held steady at $189.6 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $371.1 million.

Old earned about $830,000 to come in at #11. Domestically, the film has grossed $46.5 million. Over the week, the film added about $2.2 million to bring its international total to $37.5 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $84 million.

Initial numbers have 24 films earning $61,615,016 from 35,768 theaters. That’s slightly down from last weekend’s 50 films which earned $63,388,045 from 38,027 theaters. It’s close to the results from three weekends ago. The average earning was $1,722.63 this past weekend, an improvement from the previous weekend’s $1,666.92.
