Pokémon GO is being updated to a new version across all capable iOS and Android devices. The latest update is being rolled out to iOS and Android devices, respectively. According to patch notes from the development team at Niantic, the latest update implements various bug fixes and improvements for an overall smoother experience.

Quality of Life
- If a Trainer defeats a Team GO Rocket leader, but has not yet completed the reward encounter, the Team GO Rocket balloon will stay on map until the Trainer is able to complete the reward encounter
- Notifications will stop after a Trainer has logged out of their account
- Made lighting direction in a Pokémon encounter scene consistent
Bug Fixes
- GO Battle League
- Fixed an issue where GO Battle League matches did not take place in the proper map
- Fixed one cause of when GO Battle League matchmaking would sometimes crash
Raids and Battles
- Fixed an issue where the incorrect number of Trainers were displayed when re-joining a Raid Lobby
- Fixed an issue where game would freeze on the summary screen after a Team GO Rocket battle
Research
- Fixed a text error where the Journal entry for XP or Stardust did not accurately show an increase when the Trainer was using a Lucky Egg or Starpiece, even though the actual amount of XP or Stardust was increased
Miscellaneous
- Fixed an issue where the Lucky Pokémon background was not displaying in the Pokédex
- Fixed an issue where Wailord did not display properly on devices with longer screens
- Fixed an issue where black square sometimes appeared in the sky
- Fixed an issue where a Poké Ball would briefly appear to the left of a Pokémon upon entering an encounter
