After copious delays and a myriad of hiccups, director and screenwriter Hideaki Anno’s final Evangelion film, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time, is now available to stream for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers.
Thrice Upon A Time is an updated release of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and features several cut scenes while retaining the film’s storyline. It serves as the fourth and final movie in the Rebuild of Evangelion series and, like the films before it, the plot is completely bonkers to understand if you’re just now getting into Neon Genesis Evangelion’s convoluted storytelling.
The good news, though, is that the three other films in the Rebuild of Evangelion series are also available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. So you can brush up on all the Evangelion movies to (hopefully) make sense of Thrice Upon A Time. And of course, if you’re completely unfamiliar with Evangelion, the first season of the anime is now streamable on Netflix.

In other anime news, Sony finished its $1.175 billion buyout of Crunchyroll, with the PlayStation maker saying the goal is to create a “unified anime subscription experience” now that it owns Crunchyroll and Funimation.
